Letterpress workshop with Richard Ardagh

On the second day at the Tipoteca everyone finally began printing. But first, the participants had to design and compose their pages. Each team was allotted two pages in the planned specimen book. Earl and Josse’s pages were going to be a showing of the existing Stocchetti 004–006 character set including spacing material; Henri and Gabriella were going to use one page to show how Rosaria 0303–032’s characters joined up and one page to make visible the Stocchetti 004–0 spacing system; Yasmin’s page was going to focus on the body sizes of Rosaria 030–032 while her teammate Janet was going to display the character set of the unidentified metal script typeface on her page; and Riccardo and Erin were going to devote one page to comparing the ascenders and descenders of each of the three script types and their other page to comparing the angles of inclination of the scripts.
