Reason No. 10—Small Group
The Letterforms Study Group workshop at the Tipoteca will be even more exclusive than the sessions I have run in New York City, San Francisco, and Oxford since November 2022. Those have been limited to 10 attendees. The Script Wood Type workshop will be restricted to 8 people. As of 15 August 2024, seven slots are still available.
I want to restrict the size of the group so that—paradoxically—the week-long experience will be both more intensive and more relaxing. It is my hope that a small group will be able to work more collaboratively and productively—and develop more camaraderie—than a larger one.
There is also the practical matter that the script wood type font we will be investigating can only be printed on a hand press. The Tipoteca has two such presses and Lucio Passerini and I fully expect to utilize both. We will use use at least one cylinder press for ancillary printing needed to produce our type specimen.

PRICING
Student price (with ID)—$2900
A maximum of 5 people will be accepted at the student price.
Early bird price—$3200
This price is available until December 31, 2024.
Regular price—$3500
Partial scholarships for those under the age of 40 will be available for up to five people. They will cover $2000 of the relevant price. To apply for a partial scholarship send a short resume and a portfolio of up to fifteen images to paulshaw@nyc.rr.com.
To secure a place in the 2025 Letterforms Study Group workshop at the Tipoteca a non-refundable deposit of $300 is required. Please make payment to paulshaw@nyc.rr.com via PayPal.
