Food is everywhere in Italy, in the streets as well as in the ristoranti, trattorie, and osterie. These first two photographs are from vegetable and fruit markets in Venice and the third is of some octopus from a seafood market in that city.

During the Tipo Cibo Vino workshop we will be staying at the Villa Bolzonello, an agriturismo which makes prosecco. There is a kitchen which the owner Luigi has let us use to make our own meals for those who prefer not to eat out every evening. In 2012 a group of us did that several times. We stopped at a supermercato on the way back from the Tipoteca and bought all sorts of vegetables, fruits, pasta, seafood, cold cuts and wine. Then we cooked pasta and made a large salad for dinner. The meal, eaten on the front porch of the villa, was rounded out with the wine and Luigi’s prosecco. Delicioso.
